heat not working
#2
Are you 100% sure that the radiator is full? If not, you won't have heat.
It is possible that a fuse for the heater controls is blown. In the 1998, it is fuse # 16 in the dash fuse panel.
I don't know if this is the correct fuse as you DID NOT supply 2 important pieces of information about your car:
1) What year is it? the different years are not identical, so this is important.
2) Does the car have manual or automatic climate control?
Let us know so we can give you better advice.

as said, when the car is warm put your hand on each heater core hose on the firewall one at a time. both should be cookin hot, if one is hot and one is cooler the heater core is probably plugged and you have to blast some water in it to flush it out

Heater not blowing in cabin
Hi guys,
Please help. I have posted this in the noob section, but I don't know if that is the place. This thread seems to be closely related to my issue, although with different specifics.
The latest concern on my beloved 1999, the heater doesn't blow.
I press the button for AUTO heat, Display goes on, shows a nice high temp setting, the fan symbols light up to all four, and I hear something fanlike kick on in the engine area when this all happens. No heat blows in to the cabin, however.
Coolant is topped off, and the vents in the cabin are all in open position.
You gotta see how I dress for the 1 hour drive to work. I live in Northern NJ, and the temp at 5:50 AM has been in the teens most days. Though I warm her up for 15-20 minutes every cold day, Lately half the drive is over before the breath in the cabin stops being visible!
Help. Thanks so much! I have gotten the most effective help here on a host of issues, please know how straightup awesome this forum is. Thank you again.

Northern NJ I know that on the manual climate control there is a blower resistor that controls the fan which is simple to replace. I forget how it is on the auto, I remember reading about it. Let me dig it up and see what I can find.
Ok here's what I found: I think it's called a fan control amplifier.

Wonderful! I will try this out in the morning, and get back with the news. The diagrams are clutch.
I may take you up on something from your Hangar Queen. I'm in West Orange.
Thanks !
