Must last 30K miles? That depends on how and where you drive. Hard friction materials will last longer than soft ones, but hard ones tend to wear the rotors faster. I'd rather buy soft brakes and change the pads more often. Pads are inexpensive, rotors are not.
hmmmm.
Well with 63k on my car, and no brake change, I think its safe to assume I don't drive it all that hard
The back brakes have about 1/2 left!! That's amazing to me.
True, rotors are a LOT more than pads. Do you have a copy of the shop manual you could send on how to install the pads and the belts?
Thanks,

Re: Re: hmmmm.
I used metal masters the last time I replaced my brakes on my nissan sentra se-r. After I sold it the kid who bought it called me back and asked me if I put on performance pads and rotors. I told him I just replaced the pads. He loved them. I loved them and never had a problem with them. Hey will last about 20-30k miles under normal driving and there is almost no dust. NO pad will ever eliminate ALL the dust and squealing (it is just common sense). BUt they did improve brake feel and stopping distance a few feet. only 50 bucks for a set i think.
