Idles at over 3000 RPM after TB cleaning and IACV replacement
hey guys,
I have a 1999 maxima (5spd lsd) and I just cleaned the TB and replaced / cleaned the IACV (to fight the p05050 code I was getting to pass emissions) and after toying with it I finally got it to stop reving up and down (It was a wire issue).
But now I cant get it to idle properly. The lowest I've seen it today was 2700, and it usually climbs to 4000. I found a leak in the coolant hose to the TB (is there air in it and do I have to bleed it if there is?) and am replacing that tomorrow.
But any other sugguestions on why its idling that high.
Do I have to do the relearn procedure by any chance?
Thanks

There is no relearn procedure for our cars. Did you turn the phillips screw on top of the iac in? Screw it in for lower idle. If it is all the way in I would make sure you don't have a vacuum leak. After cleaning mine it idled high for a couple days and then settled back down to normal but I still had to adjust the iac screw to get it perfect at 650 rpm.
