Brake Leak When Freezing!
Hey guys,
I haven't been on here in a while, but I figured this was the best place to look for some guidance. I've been driving the maxima around as my daily, and it seems to be leaking brake fluid FAST when it's less than about 15 degrees F outside. The master cylinder reservoir went from MAX to MIN within 24 hours, but the pedal pressure was fine. I refilled the reservoir in warmer weather and checked for leaks...Didn't see any leaks and car was braking fine.
I let the car sit during another freezing day and the reservoir was emptied. I refilled and bled the brakes and they work perfectly. I'm very cautious when driving the car locally, but does anyone know why the leak would occur? Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks!
Oh and...
Rear Calipers and pads replaced Summer 2013
4 brake hoses replaced Summer 2013
Front brake caliper brackets replaced Fall 2013
Master Cylinder replaced Fall 2013

This kind of problem happened to me before on a Toyota. When it is cold, the seal in the master cylinder shrinks and leaks brake fluid. You can check this by stepping on the brake pedal when it is cold to see if it sinks to the floor.
Since you have replaced lots of brake components recently, I don't know how they can fail so soon. Maybe it is a different problem. The brake fluid leak must be around somewhere. If the reservoir was empty while not driving, do you see brake fluid on the ground? Maybe it is sucked in the brake booster and consumed in the manifold vacuum line?
