hi my 97 maxima will only stay running when i hold the switch to the crank position and dies when i turn loose and it goes to the run position. when i turn the switch over to the run position it has no power anywhere unless i hold the switch over. i have already replaced the switch and recently replaced the the crank and cam sensors.ive checked the relays under the hood and swapped them out to make sure they are good and no problems there i believe. any suggestions on what the problem might b? it also has a new starter and alternator. thanx for any feedback

There is a relay called the Ignition relay that is inside the car. It is plugged into the fuse panel on the left side of the fuses. You need to remove the lower dash panel piece to get to it.

Swap the ignition relay with the one below it, the blower motor relay, and see id that helps.

We swaped all the relays that involves starting, ignition and security and they are good and so are the fuses. it has no power to the top half of the fuse box but has power to the lower half. inside dash panel. idk where else to look or anything else to try?

If the ignition switch was turned off, it would be normal for some fuses to not have any power. But I don't know if those fuses are all physically located side by side.

If you hadn't replaced the ignition switch, I'd say it was a bad ignition switch.

Can you follow wiring diagrams and check for voltage in a wire harness connector? You need to do some very specific troubleshooting.

Yes we replaced the switch in it and I can read wiring diagrams if I know exactly where I am looking.
