Aftermarket ECU Chip? New Car Purchase.

So I just bought a 1997 Maxima SE 5 speed with about 187k for about 1k. The owner did some mods to it. Put in a cold air intake, neon lights for the under body and interior, a turbo whistler, and some ECU chip ( May be JET ).

So he basically riced out the Max, so I think I'm just going to leave the under body neon but get rid of the interior lights, the whistler, and the chip.

My question is it hard to find the location of the ECU? I just bought this car so I haven't really messed with it yet.

Please read all the 4th gen stickies.

It's located next to the gas peddle and not fun to remove.

I bet that the pointless chip is connected to the obd2 port though.

The ecu on maximas doesn't have a "chip" you can replace. It could be no more than a resistor at the tps.
