Code 0701

Been searching all over for it and there's a bunch of posts but they all have different causes. My code came up while I was driving on the highway, was doing 60+ the whole time. There's tons of cracks and bumps on it and every night coming back from work I have to go through that area. Once the bumps start, the car starts to pull back. Like losing power for a sec. As it continues to do that the check engine light starts blinking and then stays on, indicating that the error happened right then and there. It turned off and a few mins later comes back on again while hitting the bumps the car starts pulling back. When at a red light and still on drive there's a loud ticking noise, i put it in neutral the rpms go higher and ticking stops. Bad coil? bad injector? I dont have any problems starting up the car btw.

the CEL blinking is usually indicative of a severe misfire. But it only happens on the bumps? Perhaps you have a loose - intermittent connection that disloges itself temporarily at that time.

Time to go hunting. Can you read the CEL code? Even if it's off right now, the code could still be stored. is P0701 the code? Misfires are usually P03XX
