engine stalls

Hi experienced maxima forum members. My 1998 maxima has started to act out suddenly on the highway. It starts to bog down and stall on highway speeds. the ecu has thrown a p0100 and the knock sensor code. So please advice me how to get it fixed.

The knock sensor is nothing you need to wory about right now, it may go away when u get rid of the other code, although theres a good chance the ks is bad...anyway...first thing id do is get MAF cleaner at the auto parts store...nothing but MAF cleaner for the MAF!!!
disconect power from the maf(batery or a fuse that stops power to maf) to be safe allways disconnect power 1st.Then Remove the maf grab a spray can of maf cleaner and do it up, do not touch the maf sensor components inside , you may get lucky and dirt on it may be making it not work efficiently!
then hook it back up and see if ur lucky!

Good luck, cross fingers and hope for the cheap fix!

I believe p0100 is the MAF code. check your MAF sensor harness / connection, and clean the MAF with MAF cleaner spray or electric parts cleaner. If that doesn't work, swap it out with a new one. I would advise against aftermarket MAFs, I had one that worked for all of six minutes before it died . I would either try to get an OEM one or if you don't want to spend that much, get one that you can confirm comes from a low mileage vehicle.
