is ur car a 99? it may be immobilized

if not I had the security system on my 96 block me from starting my car when the alarm went off by accident.. it was quite cool to see that even a 96 security can stop the car from starting. but all I had to do was, get out of the car. lock the car..then unlock it with the car key and open it.. start car.. boom reset and car started.

The ignition doesn't read the chip, a remote sensor does, so it doesn't matter (to the ignition) whether the key is chipped or not.

Now, if you have a chipped key before and you've just replaced it with a regular non chipped key, then that will disable your 1999 maxima.

Here's IMHO the best advise for you...
FIND ANOTHER MECHANIC!!
Throwing parts at a car isn't a very knowledgable way of fixing it.

If your car is a 99 (chipped key) and your new ignition switch takes a new key (non-chipped or non-programmed) try this:
Put your new key into the ignition switch, then hold your old key (chipped) right next to the ignition switch and turn it.
It should start (that's if it was a transponder key issue).

Excellent idea for a workaround

Thanks for that advice,I will try to hold the original key to the ignition and see what happens. I had 3 different"experienced" mechanics look at it, but apparently they were just crack pots. If that wont start the car,my next option will be to just part out the car.. ill let ya know how it goes when I get home
