My 96 cuts off

I'm new here but I'm at my wits end with my car at the moment. I love her dearly and just want to know how to fix her.

BAsically when the car is idling at a light or something or even as I go to make a turn the RPMs drop below 500 and sometimes it bounces back and sometimes it just cuts off. It normally starts right back up but now its getting harder to start and to get her to go because the Rpms will continuine to drop which in turn causes the car to cut off. It hasn't as of yet cut off while I have been driving at high speeds but it does jerk sometimes and there is also a lost of power on some occasion. It orginanly threw a code for the knock sensor and the O2 sensor. I replaced both. Then it threw a code for the egr and I had it replaced as well. replaced fuel filter. I know it's not the alternator or battery, both have been replaced in the last year. Also had a tune up early last year as well. So it's no longer throwing a code but the problem remains. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

You may well have two separate problems. I had the idle dip, and it went away when I replaced my plugs with NGKs. I also had it cut out when I was driving. That turned out to be the MAF. (I had a similar problem when the TPS went out, but I don't remember if that was my Max or my Durango.)

I'd add cleaning your MAF to the list. And check your plugs. If they're bad, or they're not NGKs, put in new NGKs.

If your RPM is acting abnormal, these are the main things to look into: TPS, IAC, MAFS, PCV.
Your car cutting off or like the way you describe, has nothing to do with your spark plugs. Btw, when it comes to spark pluhs, go pass NGK and get Denso. REAL car enthus know.

All the above comments are most likely correct. When did this start happening? Was it gradual or sudden? I would have replaced both front O2 sensors. As far as spark plugs go, NGK or Denso work well. The majority of us here use NGK with no problems at all. Other plugs don't work as well. A good cleaning of the above things and also both crank position sensors should cure the problem.

I'm gonna go with your MAF is on the way out. But like those before have suggested clean the MAF, IACV, and the TB. Carefully clean the MAF wire. When my MAF went out it never threw a code which was a PITA to troubleshoot.
