Is it possible to swap the painted part of the covers on (remote, heated) side mirrors from another set?

If I can, what would the process be for removing the covers?

the cover does come off and the covers are the same for heated and non-heated.

The 4th gen will have screws instead of those clips from the link to that post.

Yup. Three screws behind the glass. Be gently when prying.

Hopefully your screw heads aren't rusted.
