Im going to do a 3.5 swap, and i was just wondering if anyone had turbo'd one and made it their DD, or would it be better to make it last longer by not turbo it.

If you are gonna turbo it do it right. Put in a bypass or blowoff valve. Without one you will have compressor surge. Youtube it. Its bad. Check to see if trans can handle a turbo engine might have to build it up. If its gonna be low pressure you should be good but if you're gonna go over 6psi look into it. I had a boost controller on my old turbo twist of the wrist 7 -16 psi

As long as trans can handle it and you do a bypass valve(better gas mileage) or a blow of valve(sounds cooler, more power) turboing it would be fine as a dd

 

Outta curiosity the 3.5 swap is from a newer max right? and you're gonna turbo that engine... why not a 350z 3.5 turbo'd engine? It would be built for turbo and tuned for it.

 

Oh yeah ill definitly do it right, im not just gonna throw a turbo on and run it. Im gonna do a BOV and intercooler and tune everything. Make sure it won't blow on me.
