I had one of those. My car got totaled though and they were gonna charge me about $600 if i took out the stereo (well, deduct that much from the value of the car anyway). So I left it in the car, and now I've got a max with the factory Bose (and aftermarket MD changer)

thanks for the pics so far. i like the smooth look of the stock stereo but i dont think i can live with it.

does anyone have a kenwood headunit, i kinda like that one (i dont know the model number right now) but you can change the color of the display, the face flips around, and its satellite radio ready i believe.

I just ordered this Kenwood DPX-4020 double din. I haven't got it yet so I dont have pictures of it installed, but its a great looking head unit. Only paid $310 for it on eBay. Retails for about $450-$500.

I've always installed stereo equipment on my own. It's an easy way to save labor charges (assuming you don't screw something up and have to pay to get something fixed you really can't do).
If you order from a place from crutchfield, they include the wireing harness, and they include instructions on taking your dash apart and removing the factory stereo.
If you're lazy/unskilled, you don't even have to do any soldering when you do the install.

I have some pics up on http:\\www.cyberhub.net My totally lame, yet effective web site.

Give that a shot.

I have the same deck as ebmorgan, but newer model.

He's got the Z919, I have the Z828. He says the Z919 looks better, I think the Z828 does...

And the Z828 does ID3 Tags....and the face on the Z919 is not removable, and it reads MP3's faster.

However, the Z919 has a motorized face, the Z828 does not.

So all in all, Z828 is better, but if you ask ebmorgan, he'll tell you otherwise.

Oops, meant to say the Z828 reads MP3's faster, not the Z919.
