Which Y-Pipe will last longer?

Hello. I live in the Northwest and it rains up here quite a bit and I was planning to get a y-pipe. I was wondering which Y-pipe will last the longest?

there are two things you have to worry about with y-pipes; The type of metal they are made of AND the quality of the flex section.
You want a Stainless steel y-pipe with a good "proven" flex section. The one I recommend is the Cattman. It's the most expensive...but you get your money's worth. It is made of high grade stainless steel and has the best flex section out there. Many people will try to tell you that the Cattman y-pipe has more fitament problems than other y-pipes...but that is complete BS...every y-pipe CAN have fitament problems. No car is the same, therefore one y-pipe will fit every car a little differently.

Good luck!

Just make sure everything is stainless steel...that's your best bet. I have a Cattman pipe, and it has been great so far, no probs...

I live in the NW also. I have one of the first Cattman Ys. Aluminum w/ the Jet Hot. The pipes themselves have held up very well.

I have my own opinions on fit and flex sections but I reserve them because I have an early one.

I think as long as you drive for at least 20 min at one shot, you exhaust will last a long time. This allows the pipes to heat up enough to eliminate any free standing moisture that in the system.

The NW probably has a decent track record for a wet state because we don't use salt on the roads in the winter time.

They don't get alot of snow in the NW just alot of cold rain. When it does snow it's time to break out the chains. Freezing rain on the other hand usually brings out the trucks loaded with tiny rocks gauranteed to chip the living crap out of your paint.

Sprintmax is correct, aluminized will last quite a while. BTW they rust from the inside out not the out side in. We offer an exclusive 4 year rust through warrenty on our aluminized y-pipes, no other y-pipe manufacture does this. BTW, Dallas and I also use the best lined flex sections we can buy. I have never held one of ours and Brians up at the same time, I have heard ours are a little longer. Also, the lined ones have not been available for that long. Will they pass the test of time? No one knows for sure
80% of Maxima owners should probably buy aluminized, it will last quite a while and it frees up money for other mods. If you live here in Midwest a case can be made to buy 304SS. Most of us will sell the car before the pipe wears out.
Good luck with your choice.

Let's try that again...Stillens pipe is $395.00, part # 503386, check www.stillen.com. Also, their shipping is much more $$$ than Cattman, so it comes out to more money.

I rule!
It's close enough...im just kidding..
