What is it when battery and brake lights show up?

Upon acceleration most of the time, the brake and battery light fade in and then out, then the lights kinda dim for a second. I tested the alternator and it read fine. I test the battery with car off and under a load it was at yellow which means kind of weak, I think it was between 10-11 volts. But with the car on the battery tester was on green all the time and with all components on ( high beams, headlights, air conditioning, brakes, and music on) the battery was still at the green level and even went a little higher under all that load.

When you replace it spend the extra money to get OEM, or you'll be spending "mo" money in 3 months or so. Ask me how I know.

A friend is having good luck with a Bosch rebuilt from NAPA in his 4th gen.

Avoid new or rebuilt from China as I see people getting burned lately.

No complaints from the new Bosch I installed a few months ago. Just make sure you get the right one. There's one for us Cali residents and one for the rest of the country.

This is dumb. The previous owner did rack and pinion in 2007 and did alternator 25000 miles ago and it's already going out? Damn. I never had these problems with any car. I hope the tranny doesn't go out. He did it at 112k and I'm at 201k now

It could be as simple as a battery cable or end. Check the mounting points at the battery, Alt, and body. Accelerating would rock the engine and could pull on a cable, possibly exposing a weakness. Look for corrosion and loose connections.

im suprised he did it at 112k, either hes lying or he took poor care with the car when he had it. the auto transmissions are bullet proof.

how can u take poor care of the transmission? not drain and fill the fluid every once in a while? i know that flush is a horrible thing to do.

is it true that you should never touch the fluid? i hear some members have 250k+ miles and on same transmission?

He's not lying. Lol I have the receipt from aamco from 2006. 3300.00 rebuilt. I am not gonna repair if this cars tranny goes out. It shifts nice now except for a motor mount cause sometimes it shifts hard in second when going full throttle or low rpm. Rather buy two maximas for that money.
