U shaped hose on the upper intake

A couple weeks ago, I had to do my rear valve cover gasket because the car looked like a freight train going down the road Last week the little coolant hose split and I removed the hose and just cut the end off that was split. Now again I'm seeing that Im losing coolant and the hose is starting to go. I need to know what size the little hose is and if I can maybe bypass the egr. The car is a 96 I30. Any input would be great!

Not sure about size but I'd just buy it from Courtesy (see link below). Yes it will cost a bit more but it's worth it for not dealing with the hassle. It will be a perfect fit which is good since you're connecting it by feel not sight.

Don't want to bypass the egr because your car will not function right and it will throw that good old egr code. The car needs to have all the components to function right,if one or more components go bad car will go bad and function bad.

I agree that the EGR should not be eliminated.

However, the coolant routing to that stupid little double nipple under the rear of the UIM certainly can be bypassed.

Just swallow and buy the right, ready made part and be done with it. My advise for anyone getting ready to do VCG's buy the hose and replace it while you are there.

I have about 10 of these OEM U shaped hoses for when I work on my Maximas or other friends Maxima.

I don't bother wasting anymore time trying to remove it, it's too much of a pain in the ***. I just cut it off and start fresh. Hose is like $3.50. No biggie

I don't remember the size of the hose, but when I did mine, I took the old hose which is still fine and went to Autozone, they matched up for me, I got 1' long instead of 6" as the stock hose, much easier to put upper intake manifold back on with the extra 6" length of that coolant hose.

I wound up getting some hose from autozone, that little hose is PITA. But I got everything running right again. Thanks for the answers!
