Whining sound in park or drive

Mostly happens in park. After driving 20 or so minutes I get home and put in park, you hear a whining sound in the transmission area. Today I test it and on drive the thing gave a little whine at idle. Do I need wd40 somewhere? I up the rpms a little and it went away but I know it'll come back when I drive to work tonight on park . What can it be? Transmission shifts perfect and fluid is full.

How were you able to tell it was from the transmission. Did you listen in front of the car after lifting the hood. I'd check your accessories also for a whine (e.g. power steering pump, alternator, AC compressor).
