CAI question

Do I need to get a y pipe with a CAI? I can't afford them both right now and I think I read that I do, but I can't seem to locate that thread. Just wanted to check before I bought anything.

You don't HAVE to get them both at the same time but they compliment each other very nicely. I would go with the intake first because I love the sound!!

Yeah Y pipe for sure! If you plan to continue normally aspirated i.e. non-supercharged or turbo you can get the aluminized one from WSP. I've got the Budget myself. It's not a bad pipe really. There's a slight bees in the can noise at high revs ... it seems to be softening into a low growl which is kind of nice now that I've had it on for a while. It's Stainless Steel which is also nice and fits 98% perfect. it's great value for money. It's non-mandrel bent, but the pipes don't have tight bends in general anyway so you'll probably see very little performance difference between that and a mandrel one. The biggest thing is getting rid of those precats!

In my mind, one of the best value for money! The WSP is excellent! Given the choice again, I might consider that one.

That's probably more information than you wanted to know but there you are!

Y pipe is by far the best mod to do first!

i duno just my opinion, i think the most important thing is getting rid of the single backwards bend, if u see a stock one, it isnt two pips curving back like ours, the stock front one curves back and the second one curves into that single pipe, do a search and u will see how beneficial our aftermarket y's are

by taking off the pre cats on the stock Y-pipe and putting in a aftermarket Y-pipe, will you still be able to pass emisions testing that some areas require?
