Where does this go?

Just got done replacing the valve cover gaskets on my 1998 GXE and did some other cleaning and repairs. I also had the fuel injectors serviced by RC Engineering (highly recommended if you are taking everything apart like this anyway).

My problem is that I can't find where this bracket belongs. It attaches an EGR sensor to a harness. I have a small 10 MM bolt that I had bagged and labeled as the EGR sensor coming off the throttle body but I can't find where it goes. Thoughts?

On the IACV meaning idle air control valve which has location on it where it bolts in with the 10mm bolt.

The wire is the pigtail for your EGR temp sensor.

The bracket bolts to the IAC plate.

Look at your IAC. There are 2 e-connectors sitting a bit high ... a pink one and a green one (I think).

Look just to the inside (toward the IUM) of the position of those 2 connectors.

On the upper portion of the IAC plate towards the rear of the plate (fire-wall ward) there are 2 bolts. I'm suspecting that one of the holes for those bolts is open.

That's where this bracket attaches.

Let me know if you need a photo.

That was it (of course you already knew that). Having guys like you who have done this stuff before really gives me confidence to try stuff like this.

Turbobink is right, it is EGR temp sensor bracket, should be bolt on lower part of IACV, there is very little room there and you cannot see so you have to use your finger to feel it when you bolt it on.
