EGR Tube clogged

Getting ready to do both my 97 and 98 Maxima clogged EGR tubes. My only concern is, has anyone had issues with one of the top 2 or bottom 2 bolts breaking, and if so any solutions or suggestions. Thanks

I didn't have any problems on my 97. But maybe you could spray them with PB Blaster before you start and use a six point socket.

There are no guarantees that you will or will not have problems.

No issues here.

Maxforever - Not the manifold just the tube between EGR and intake, 2 bolts in top flange and 2 in bottom.
All you that have not had a problem with bolts snapping did you do any kind of special prep before wrenching down on these bolts? I have always used wd40, is the rust buster spray the same or any better?
Thanks again.

PB Blaster is the best penetrant for removing rusted materials. Similar to other member's my EGR mounting nuts came off their studs easily and no spraying was needed. One of the lower mounting studs needs to be hacked for nut removal clearance. I used my dremel tool for cutting that stud. You'll need to remove the IACV to reach the EGR tube nuts. The IACV gasket can be re-used but the EGR tube gaskets will need replacement. This HowTo thread listed in the stickies gives all the details for removing the EGR tube
