Think about it, the more the car stays planted to the ground the more traction it will give you. so the biiger wheel in the rear(less tire) the less your car is gonna lift its nose

Add a stiffer rear suspension and that should help too.

:o)

That is just way too cool. Thanks GTR. What's ironic is my best friend just bought a '93 Supra TT and I was just joking with him about this - my Max. beating him. Of course I won't be able to but hey, at least I have this pic to show him now!

P.s. I thought Don was 12.2 ???

P.s.s. Are you saying his 12 second run was with that yellow car? Is that what you meant by "that was it"?

No prob...

I said he was the first to hit 12, not the fastest 12 second max.

NO no, "that was it" was meaning, thats all the pics I have so far.

It maybe I have no idea, there is no NOS I think. About the stripping it down, it might have been. I will try and catch him online tonight and catch the scoop of it.

The rim selection probably has to do with the fact that he was running DRs or slicks on those and the 16" were his street wheels which he didn't bother to take off the back, not that a 1" smaller rim would make the front lower.

Taking a headlight out is not hard. And it hardly makes a car "race only".

there is an S/Ced auto max here in chicago that ran 13.3@106 with his STOCK 15inch wheels and cr@p tires...I was there...and he doesn't have NOS...PLUS he's running UNDER 10 lbs of boost...intercooled...a 12 second maxima with NO nos is completely possible....you just have to know what you're doing...

The first Max to break the 12 second barrier is Jeff Hubert's turbo 84 Max. Don's not the fastest either, as the car now runs 11.9 @ 124 mph(at only 11 psi). If you don't believe me, I'm sure a little track session can be set up in his home state of Florida..
