Better performance!
Better performance!
I did the following today. 1) Cleaned the throttle body thoroughly, 2)replaced the PCV valve, 3) replaced the fuel filter, 4) tightened the throttle cables.
The tb was a wicked mess but now looks brand new, the throttle cables had a ton of slack and I tightened them and made sure the butterfly closes completely, the fuel filter said Nisan (69k miles), and the PCV valve barely rattled (just kinda moved when hitting it hard in my palm).
The car is more responsive at partial throttle, the idle holds approx. 400 rpms higher even with the "econ" temp control (car used to come close to stalling), and less hesitation when accelerating hard from low RPMs.
It was not fun and took me approx. 1.5 hours to do it all but WAY worth it. Thanks for all the help on this board and the excellent "search" function. Peace: e3 - spamman
