More new codes and symptoms!

So recently I changed the CPS on the oil pan and I got an ignition signal code. Following advice on here, I replaced all the ignition coils, and the spark plugs since I was in there. The change in the sound of my car is phenomenal. However....cleared the codes, 20 miles later the SES light is back. Ignition Signal code is long gone, replaced with P0400, EGR Flow Malfunction.

Now my car jerks like it's trying to cough up a lung until I'm at 2600rpms or in 5th. You can hear it as I'm driving. It's a very similar sensation to what it was doing when I changed out the fuel filter a few months back. That took some Lucas and a few hundred miles to get the jerking to stop. Any thoughts?

i also have an egr 0400 code, it could be your egr tube is clogged, or another part of your egr needs cleaning.i don't have the jerking/stuttering issue like you do. ever cleaned your maf, or seafoamed your upper intake?

No, I never have. My store (napa) has the seafoam but I don't know how to put it in the intake. As far as the MAF, I disconnected it the other night when checking the throttle body and airbox to see if it needed to be cleaned and it was all spotless inside despite a dirty air filter. I know the rubber neck piece of the hose between the MAF and the squareish box towards the throttle body is torn and needs replacing, but beyond that I can't think of anything in that area that would throw the code.

Did you instal the CPS correctly because there's a hole for the little pin that's on the CPS to go into other wise it might give you those codes or jerking symptoms.

You mentioned a torn hose between the MAF and the throttle body. It is important that the hose is intact. Otherwise the extra air will make the car run like crap.

Pin? Just 2 screws holding it in place. It's the CPS under the crank pulley, in front of the oil filter. I don't recall any pin.

Given how this code has never come up, I'm not too sure the torn neck of the hose is to blame as it's torn on the "seam" on the inside edge. Either way it's getting replaced Thursday when I go to the junkyard.
