The Nissan sensor is closer to $200, but that has nothing to do with your question.

The answer is probably multi-faceted. Part of the answer is that Nissan parts are always sold at premium prices. But they tend to be excellent quality.

Do the $40 specials come with the wire harness and the plastic plug? They may not. O2 sensors are like this. Then you have the question of where did it come from? If it came from China, the quality is in serious doubt and that makes for a short life.

I doubt if anyone can answer you question with 100% certainty. But generally you get what you pay for. You buy cheap, you get cheap. You get to flip the coin.

I found one on U pull for 6$ and manage to pull it out. Only it is from 01 maxima. I think cord length in engine compartment do not fit. So I have to cut wires. Is it better to cut in wheel well or in engine compartment?

inside of engine compartment is better protected. I would solder the splices. parts stores sell a bottle of brush-on electrical insulation. brush that over the splices. then electrical tape over that. this will last for several years
