about ground controls

about ground controls

do i need a camber kit for them?
if i drop it to the lowest?
i have 16's from the 2001 max
i dont know how low the lowest is ..
but im going to drop it just about the tire..
not tucked...
will it b a rough ride?

hello. you will need a camber kit if you lower the car more than 2''. i believe the lowest you can drop them is 3'' or so. the ground controls are stiff springs and if you have them with the kyb agx shocks then yes, it will be a rough ride.

will will not need camber plates if you drop it at least 2 inches. if you drop it lower than 2 inches you will need them.

hm...how come i heard a few members with ground controls saying you don't need a camber kit?

You never "need" a camber kit. You just have to decide if you want to buy new tires ever year or not. Maybe those that told you that don't have it dropped all the way.

i have GC and dropped lower than 2" and yes i have camber plates... i find it to be beneficial for the tire-life...

i dropped my Max 3" in front and my camber was -1 degree so i used camber bolts. Camber bolts allow a max adjustment of about 1 degree. -1 degree camber isnt THAT bad..your tire will wear quicker on the inside but wont be severe. alot of RWD cars have a bit of negative camber and even some factory tolerances allow up to a -.8 degree camber.
