Ideas to get this rounded bolt off egr guide tube?

Need some ideas to get this guide tube off. rounded out and just so happens to be the only bolt incapable of fitting a socket on. Am I going to have to take off this pipe thats blocking access to the bolt? I could fit a socket on if I did, but that pipe doesn't look like it'll come off easy....any help is appreciated. Been cheating emissions but would be nice to clear the code.

I've tried but can't get it. I've gotten thi thing off before on my other car but on this one it's rounded pretty badly. It was already like that when I got it

To get to the rear bolt of the egr guide tube, your going to have to take rear valve cover off the get enough clearance to have leverage to break it loose. At this point id count your losses and cut the egr tube (not guide tube) cut in half and start getting more access to the rounded nut.

It would be good to go through the intake manifold and valve cover to change the gaskets afterward but I'm trying to find an easier and faster solution as this is usually a 15 min job for me. Think the bolt would be any easier to turn if I heated it up w/ small torch? Worried about nearby hoses though.

I was going to say the same thing as asand1.

Place the chIsle on the left side of the nut in the picture.

The flat side of the chIsle reeds to be parallel with the bolt.
First whack gently so that the chisel will dig into the nut to create a notch. Then pound harder to force the nut to spin.

hmm, I might try this on my days off. I have everything bolted back up as this is my daily but I'll give that a try.

These are just about one of the most useful tools I own.

I would definitely use that, but I wouldn't be able to fit it on the bolt. I regularly try new methods every 4-5 months in hopes of getting it off. I have a 3-day weekend off work so I'm determined to get this damn thing off in the next 3 days

Keep in mind, he has a rounded off nut.

The nut is attached to a stud.

So he wants to remove the nut, not the stud or bolt.

Buuump, If memory serves me correctly then the nut pictured above ISN'T connected to the bolt like the other 3 bolts that hold the tube right? If so, I believe I can just hack it off and find a replacement. Does anyone know or remember? would like to get rid of my CEL...
