little concern about idling.

I have a 1996 Maxima GLE and it runs pretty good but the only ting I notice is after it has warmed up the idle will dip suddenly sometimes into the 600-500 range (I'll have to confirm this though) and I can feel a little shake and stutter like it's about to go into a limp mode but it always seems to catch it back up,would this be associated with throttle control?

It only concerns me because my previous car did the same kind of stuff and I would have to pop it into neutral at stops and keep it revved to stop it from going into limp mode if the rpms fell too low.

try cleaning your iacv, if it still does it than i would say maybe your maf. the maf might be dirty which you can also clean or there are 3 electrical connections in it that go bad you can take it apart and resolder them or get a new maf (cheapo chinese ebay mafs are iffy)

I had a similar problem and changed the plugs to NGKs. That fixed it. You might also try cleaning the throttle body.

IACV means Intake Air Control Valve.

Meaning that its function or mis-function is the same as your problem.

So clean it, and see what happens. Doing that should solve your problem for a negligible cost.

I will get on it then. Yea, I googled iacv when you mentioned it. Pricey part, so cleaning it will definitely be my first step after looking over a few other past forums.
