where to find i30 trunk lid emblems

had my 99 trunk lid replaced. paint shop said they can not buy new insignia- I think its something that says i30 in a silver script (is there a picture anywhere as to which side it goes on??), shop does not want to put on a used insignia, so car looks in the back just a little bit customized on the trunk lid.
Has anyone used one from a salvage yard? what do you glue it on with? or do they fall off and then paint looks bad?

Salvage yard emblems are just fine. I have used them. Put them on with trim tape used for side door trim. Its double sided tape that you trim around the emblems. You can get a roll of it at Autozone. Look online for pictures of where the badges are located.

They should have the adhesive already on them if they are from a dealer. The double sided adhesive is inexpensive and weatherproof and can be had at auto parts stores.

This is what I used to reinstall the GTO lettering on my front grill after I painted it. Even on small (1/2 - 3/4 inch tall), individual letters, it was easy to use and is still holding them in place just fine.

paint shop says the i30 emblem from a dealer will have the tape on it. peel and stick.

does anyone know if this type emblem can be bought on line from a dealer?
Id like to do a peel off the backing and stick on, rather than having to use liquid adhesive , or having to cut pieces of tape.

Here's a link to OIP for the 99 I30 trunk lid emblem. The price listed is $38.81. You can give it a try if the price is right.
