My Maxima is still overheating

I just changed the thermostat and the radiator and got a new cap but for some reason the engine is still overheating...what could be the problem and is there a temperature regulation button to adjust the temp???

After you finished installing the radiator and thermostat, did you burp the system of air properly?

Are your fans functional and coming on?

Need more info.

Sounds like a thermostat issue. Are you sure you put it in the right way? If so, it might be bad.

You should try to burp air fom the cooling system.

Raise the front of the car . Like on ramps or jack stands. Remove radiator cap. From the radiator. Not from the coolant tank.

Run the engine for 1/2 to 1 hour. Blip the throttle one in a while. Confirm that the fans turn on from time to time.

I think that if there is an air bubble right where the engine coolant sensor is, it won't turn the fans on as often as it should.

Gotta start with the free and easy stuff. Burp the system of air as directed. Report back.

Did you OEM thermostat or aftermarket?

Just raise the front of the car on a ramp or incline let it run. Shut it off, let it cool down. Add more coolant. Do this a few times and it should be good. The radiator only has the top cap and bottom drain valve. When the car cools just remove the cap and add antifreeze.

Wowzers. Please follow the directions as posted. Our Max does not have a bleeder valve.
You are making this a lot harder than it needs to be.

Start from the beginning...

What was the reason you changed your radiator and thermostat?

Did the car overheat prior to changing the radiator?

Is your oil brown?

Does the car stumble/misfire when you first start it?

Go buy a non-contact infra-red temp gun from Harbor Freight and shoot several points on the block with it running and up to operating temp. The first area would be the t-stat housing. The gun won't lie regarding temps. Could you have a bad sending unit?
