I'm Back

Hey guys,

Long time since I've browsed these fourms but I'm back!

I picked up a 99 5 speed vlsd (250,000km - aprox 156,000 miles) in roughish shape and its going to be my winter car this year!

Was completely stock with different color doors and no rad support when I picked it up. I've put some work into it, here's some recent pics with the G35C wheels and Tokiko Struts & Tein S-Techs.

What to do next ???

Canadians and their Damned VLSDs.........

I'm so freakin jealous I'm going outside and smash my windshield!

Actually, it looks a lot nicer than my 99 SE-L

How about some inner and outer Tie Rods with new bellows, Sway Bar bushings and end links and new LCA's. I'm assuming the struts are all rebuilt with OEM parts other than struts and springs.

Then the usual engine stuff: Clean MAF, Throttle Body, IACV and EGR and tube. Filters and Plugs? And if it still isn't as smooth as it should be, FuelI Injector system upgrade.

And of course, any leaks.

Not to mention new headlight assemblies retrofitted with nice projectors and the right bulbs (3K)

How's the interior and engine/drive train?

Congratulations! Very nice find. Is that an ES model? I like the G35 wheels. Does it have anti-lock brakes?

Thanks guys haha, its not bad for 600$ I paid for it!
Yes has abs.
Leaks some oil from various places, I'll address that soon!
Put a dual core aluminium rad (had in my shed) so coolant isn't leaking any more.
Needs a drive belt, probably will bypass ac as it doesn't even have half the components anymore haha.
The struts are tokiko illuminas, and I just did LCAs with swaybar endlinks and bushings.
For headlights I'm looking for R34 style ones and I'll run HIDS.
Interior is in ok shape, cloth . (Black dash).
Drives ok tho, still ironing some of the issues out, but its a pretty good car!

Seems like you got the car for a great price.

You are making sure that the car is reliable. For that price, it will make a great winter car. If it gets rusty or dented, you will not loose much. You might get several years of use form your car.

Congratulations, and good luck....

That clear coat looks immaculate. Mine's beginning to wear away pretty badly. Beautiful car!
