Code P0130-because of steering pump leak

I had a check engine light and when I ran the code it came up as P0130 front oxygen sensor. I had a major steering pump leak and it I guess the fluid messed with the sensor. Check engine light did not come on until I replaced the steering pump. Anyone else out there had this happen on their 95 Maximas?

I can see no relation between the power stsering leak and the oxygen sensor.

As we enjoy our car hobby, we need to lean the difference between cause and effect and coincidence.

coincidence is two unrelated things which happen at the same time. Like helping some one fix something on the front of the car, then getting blamed for bad work because the muffler falls off the following week.

P0130 is for bank 1 sensor 1. The only correlation to replacing the power steering pump and ending up with a P0130 code is that they are close by each other. Maybe the wiring was damaged in the process. Or maybe the sensor took a hard hit in the process. But there is no functional correlation or relationship to those items.

Thanks for the update. I replaced that sensor maybe ten years ago. I figure it got out of wack when the steering pump was replaced. Thanks for the feedback.
