Body Control Module question

My windows and drivers door does not work. The switch is fine. Had to tap fuseblock to get power to the switch now every door and window but the drivers door works. My mechanic checked all the wiring and said the only thing left is the BCM. I am on eBay looking for them and there are some that say no keyless entry and some that do. My questions are 1) where else should i check to diagnose the window/master door lock and 2)don't all Maxims have keyless entry? Thanks.

I don't think every 4th gen had keyless entry. Also, don't forget about the I30, which did come standard with keyless.

You can use the keyless entry BCM in cars that didn't come with it.

what is keyless entry? using the key fob to unlock the door?

That is what confuses me. I seriously thought all Maximas had this

Keyless was part of a package option on some models.

For the bcm, what year and options do you have?

No, not all maximas came with keyless entry. I worked with a guy in the Seattle Washington area whose car didn't have it and he added it. It was a project.

Maybe the BCM is bad, but it could also be the master power window switch. It could also be a wire harness problem, a broken wire from the door opening and closing.

95 & 96 cars are different than the 97 to 99 cars.
