99 MAXIMA model category labelled as "ES" not SE??

99 MAXIMA model category labelled as "ES" not SE??
So, what is an ES. My maxima has a trunk mark of ES. But the serial # says it is a GLE, GXE, or SE.

Is this a US market vehicle?

Perhaps a previous owner transplanted an emblem from another vehicle?

It is the Canadian version of the SE but kind of a downgraded version. It does not have leather or a spoiler and I don’t think it has a bose system and other luxury features.

I think the Canadian ES came with Viscous Limited Slip Differential (VLSD).
