i am done with performance!
i am done with performance!
got the intake exhaust and y pipe... everything else is so expensive now. screw performance, not gonna spend 500 dollars for everything now. thinking about wheels, springs and a body kit. unless someone can tell me some cheaper stuff i can do and install myself.
Re: where you at?
Recommended first- RSB reduces understeer and body roll, you'll definately feel it
Second- FSTB increases steering response and make's front more solid
Third-shocks/springs (don't put one on with out the other, i guess you could put shocks and not springs, but not the other way around, darn riceboys...)
Fourth-RSTB it does do something, reduces squibble in back, makes it feel more solid.
Also to keep in mind are the www.warpspeedperformance.com subframe connectors. I need to order some sometime, 'cept i was gonna finish out exhaust first. Hope this helps!

So are you going to buy SEARS rims, home depot made body kit, and cut the stock springs. Appearence products costs just as much as performance products. If you can't afford one, why the other?

i think he meant the perf mods that are left for NA arent worth the hp for their price, e.g. under drive pulley, rt cat, etc. im trying to figure out my lowering combo right now, im pritty set on the kyb agx's but becuz of $ i cant figure out what to do for the drop, maxspeeds, progress springs,(heard offer very good rides), and for the few people that have weapon r coils, have had good things to say about them, i duno, help me out, i need a decent drop without destructive ride! and not to $
exactly, i am not gonna spend 500 dollars for 5 hp
wheels and body kit etc. are expensive yes, but they yeild immediate, noticable gratification. if you can name some mods that are 200-300 dollar range that i can install myself, then ill change my attitude.

So do performance parts. I went totally appearance at first, 19"s, custom paint, bodykit, custom bodywork, custom interior, all the appearance stuff. But now I'm back to the performance side of it because I'm tired of driving a slow car. NOS kit is in, SC goes in tomorrow, Y-Pipe goes in tomorrow, VB mod goes in later this week, LSD goes in in a month. But I think appearance stuff costs more than performance if you want it done right. It just depends on how far you want to go in each area. $2K wheels buys a lot of performance, and so does a $1K body kit. As for Stillen's upgrade chart, it's really not all that accurate. They do a lot of riceboy math for parts they sell. Just listen to the .org guys, they'll steer you right.

yes, you guys are my savior... best advice for maximas on the planet is here
but, i think i am fast enough. i dont go to the track enough, and i drive the speed limit religously (apart from the occasional rice boy romp) especially after 2 tickets in one week.
yea same here, instead of me going all looks to be a show car, and all performance to be the ultimate speed freak, im tying in a mix of eeeverything, so i just did the only performance things i feel efficient enuff for the money, now im just gonna do gc's agx stb, rswb

That all depends on what crowd you hang with. Hang with the ricers/show guys, and appearance will get you attention. Hang out with the performance guys, and all they'll notice is the performance stuff.

At first, I wanted speed, so I got a pop-charger, then I wanted suspension so I bought your Intrax and also purchased KYB GR2's within the next month from eBay along with a FSTB a month later. Now, I'm just going for looks, 18's (now thinking about 19's at the rate my tires are balding), little stuff like painting the dash pieces silver, brake calipers black along with the window trim and door handles black, adding the factory spoiler, adding just a muffler for looks and sound in the meantime until I get a true cat-back (this is somewhat of wasted cash), underbody kit, and reverse indiglos with intelliglow needles. With a birthday coming up in 2 weeks I have a the option of a y-pipe or the Stillen front lip. But yea, it all depends on how far you want to take it in each area. I chose to go with looks because as of now I can care less how fast it is, no car is fast when it's mostly parked. I leave the performance mods up to the 5-spds and compact cars.....for now.

so maybe a balance between speed and looks is the way to go. of course, when my max is no longer the daily driver, i can do crazy stuff like bruce and remove the compressor and go for all speed.
my next mods probably a short throw shifter, hids, then tires/rims..damn that's almost 4K!
