Ultimate Headlight Quad Retrofit Build (HIDs, LEDs, oh my)
6 Attachment(s)
First let me say it's been over a year since I've logged onto this website and man it feels nice to be here. It's been about 2 years now since my 97 i30t was totaled and replaced with a 2011 Nissan Juke. And as an active contributing member to the JukeForums, let me tell you with utmost sincerity how incredibly fantastic and superior this forum website is over the total crapbucket that is autoguide forums. Loved this place and the people here... Anyways, so the reason for my return is....
I'm here to present to you my latest headlight build, a true throwback to my roots. Having had a 97 Maxima and a 97 i30t w/custom headlights, my first full custom build was for my buddy's 99 Maxima which led to many other builds which eventually spiraled out of the Maxima gang and now makes up a significant portion of my shop's business for a variety of makes/models. Fantastic stuff. I've attached some glamour pics for your enjoyment: Attachment 58579 Attachment 58580 Attachment 58581 Attachment 58582 Attachment 58583 Attachment 58584 And here's a link to the YouTube video: Equipment utilized in this build: Quad Morimoto MH1 Projectors Morimoto 35W HID System (x4) MX5-R Switchback Shrouds Gloss Black Painted Interior Custom Acrylic Inserts Profile Peak Switchback LED Bulbs Exterior Clearcoat |
How do you aim the projectors? Ive got mini h1s and butyl adhesive holding the projectors into my skyline style 1 peice headlights but I haven't come up with how I'm going to aim them, if I manually aim them they sag down the butyl doesn't hold them at the angle i aim them. I love my projectors though they make the car look so much nicer imo

They look nice but what components are used? EDIT: Didn't read lulz |

Then there's different kinds of shroud options and halos. I think I spent ~$350 on my setup using all new stuff from TRF except eBay remote control rgb halo rings |
I wasn't trying to build them, just trying to get a price...I've Been to the ByThirteen.com and Istill see nothing...pertaining to the 4th Gen...

Just saw the build list. I hope you replaced the drivers on the shrouds. They tend to pop and take out the halos with them (either the white, amber or sometimes both).

Nice lights though!! |
lolz you guys are funny.
let's see ... uhhhh... okay, so ya'll figured out how to read the video description for pricing as well as components utilized. So that's all addressed. I've been quite busy lately so the build log still isn't published on the website but when it is you will perhaps understand the price point. This is a deceptively simple looking build that is anything but a standard install. Yes, you can mount a MH1 in the low beam position via the shaft mount which is a very entry-level / DIY retrofit. You will not be able to properly shaft mount any full sized projector in the high beam location due to clearance issues. You will not be able to utilize the X5R shrouds in either high or low beam location without significant clearance issues. As well as countless other challenges that make this build rather prohibitive to anything but an experienced builder. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Headlights are adjusted utilizing the original standard adjustment screw just like normal. Butyl should not be used inside the housing for any reason. <3 |
Oh....... MY......... GOSHHHHH!!!!! I WANT THOSE SO BAD!!!!!!! Can you please make me some!!!!!!
