does anyone know what this box with hydraulic connections is?
Located under and between brake booster and clutch master. It has a line from the clutch master and to the clutch slave, but also at least two more lines that run off to the passenger side on the firewall, a few inches below the brake lines. I have no idea what those additional lines are for either. Searching for info on this has turned up nothing. I thought at first it was brake proportioning valve but the lines run directly from the master to each wheel and don't seem to have anything to do with this weird box.
That "box" is part of the clutch piping. There was a recent thread posted with pictures of everything removed if you want to see how it's all connected.
That's a huge help, thank you so much. I think I found that old thread you mentioned as well. The part of mine that I can see looks identical to that but I don't think I have ABS. Going to have to investigate more.
On a vehicle with ABS, would the brake and clutch circuits be connected so that the ABS could actually release the clutch when it activates? I'm still trying to figure out why there would be any connection between brake and clutch lines, as it looks like there is.
