intake/exhaust with auto trans.

I've done some searching on the posts, and learned a few things, however, i still have a question. If i get the Cattman Y pipe to get the mods going, how will it affect the bottom end power? I know people have 12-15 hp gains, but I assume its mostly top-end. I have an auto tranny, so losing the bottom end (below 3K) will be very noticible. I'm thinking about also getting a CAI, but that will most likely make the loss of bottom end power more noticible. the cat on the car is good (got 67K miles), and from what I've learned here, replacing the muffler won't do me any good (2-3 hp tops),unless I had NOS or SC. Plus I like to run stealthy... Am i thinking right?

looked around the forums some more. Place Racing CAI seems to be a lot of people's choice, and Warpspeed SS Y pipe for the exhaust. Weapon R will come out with their enclosed intake for the maxima, but paying $300+ to gain a few horsies? dunno...
for now plans call for suspension work, anyway. still rolling on stock suspension and 15" aluminums. thinking KUB AGX and H&R, front strut tower bar, and rear sway bar. but that's another topic alltogether.

I have an automatic 4th gen and I noticed increased power (not very much, but it's there) throughout the revband after I added my Ypipe. My overall impression of the ypipe is that it is a good, but not great mod. The car revs a little more eagerly, but the sound at idle sounds very unrefined now, kind of like a 10 year old car.
