Hello Maxima.org CS_AR is still around.

Hello All - I'm still around with the 98 GLE VLSD and the 99 SE 5-MT. The Maxima's are doing great. Actually, they are the quiet workhorses that bring in the money so I can p*ss it off on my latest Toyota/Lexus project. I've gotten into off-roading in the past year.

Here's a video of a recent Ozarks off-road adventure.

SHOWOFF! LOL

Glad you're having fun!

I haz a jealousy!

Now I'm looking at GX460 to replace my old Durango. 4Runners are so Cult, the prices are the same and sometimes lower on the Lexus.

Not sure which bank I'm going to hit to pay for it though! LOL Send me a cake with a file! I'm not that lucky and will probably need it.

Good to hear from you. One of the pillars here!

TexMex Chili Tacos are real good!

LOL.. You've got it. The GS460 is often overlooked like the LX470 for an LC. I think I told you about the incredible parts supplier in Dubai

Thanks, guys for the welcome back. I've learned a few new tricks from the Land Cruiser people. Some of you may already know this but it was new to me.

When replacing Lower Control Arms, (LCAs), just lightly tighten it while the car is in the air. Then when you are done and can get the vehicle on the ground or sitting at normal ride height make the final torque up. The idea is to keep the bushings from being in a bind once the vehicle reaches normal ride height. It's been years since I replaced LCAs on the Maximas. But I remember each side would be spring-loaded from the bushing binding either up or down depending on the bolt torque direction.

But Craig.... They didn't tell you to use water based sex lube on the bushing to help it "slide" in.......

I DID! LOL

Who said suspension work isn't any fun?

One of my Tacoma buddies was razzing me this morning for doing a water crossing in the LX this weekend.

"Per [cruiser forum] you need to go to your local cruiser mechanic and have every fluid and grease swapped and the truck re baselined. Greatest, most rugged offroad vehicle ever engineered, has stricter maintenance requirements than an F1 car, per the cruiser forum duopoly."

A should have bought and built a Nissan Armanda (a.k.a Patrol) for off-road. All of the off-road parts I use come from Australia anyway. I don't see them having this much drama. Ha!
