y cant i beat an accord v6?

how badly did u beat the accord. I raced my friends 2000 V6 accord w/ a CAI and i beat him off the line and he smokes me. His car only has maybe 15k miles and mine has 62k. I dont think that would make that big of a difference but past 50 he just kept gettin farther and farther away. is there anything i can do for my car besides performance mods to make it faster (i.e. new sparkplugs, general tuneup fuel injector cleaner) is there anything that could be makin my car run slower for some reason basically?

It would help if you gave us your year, transmission type, and any mods you have on your Max now....

What kind of car do you have?

I raced an Accord V6 Coupe and won. Maybe he has more mods than he is telling you. Do you have a lot of stuff in your car (ex: Stereo)?

You should have no problems pulling from ANY Accord with either of the following scenerio:

Stock 4th gen 5spd Max vs. V6 Accord +CAI
4th gen Auto + CAI/Y-Pipe vs. V6 Accord +CAI

You're just jealous because you get your a$$ handed to you by Maxima's a lot

Thanks to "Big Van" turning my Accord Sedan into a "hatchback", I...

1) Get rid of a car I was thinking of trading anyways...
2) Pocket 6-grand because the settlement was *THAT* good.
3) Get a car I'm much much happier in.
4) Get a car that actually has some potential.
5) Smoke pretty much any riceboy in said car...stock!

In fact, things worked out so good for me that I'm thinking of giving the "Big Van" driver a call and seeing if he can hit me again!

Mikey, you can mention the big van and my accord "hatchback" all you want because it will only bring smiles to my face.

Now about that intake and y-pipe I was going to order for my new "rice-cookin" Maxima with some of that left-over dough from the settlement I'm sitting on... Mid-14's here we come!

I think I have the factory freak cause I couldn't beat a 99/00 Accord V6. And I also ran a pathetic 16.1 in the 1/4.

Made two runs and I got the launch both times and then lost in the end.

I have a popcharger and he was stock and we were both auto.

I have video of it too.

Um...I don't have the SC anymore. Most people here know that already. Duh! Why would I need a SC to beat an Accord V6? Geez...give me some credit. If I still have the SC, you think I would even waste my time with an Accord V6?

the honduh v-6 produces 200 hp while the vq produces 190....could that be a factor?....on top of that i heard the vtec's are better for high end - time 2 get rid of those pre-cats i guess(on the maxima that is)

I'm on my stock 15s yes... not sure what are on the Accords. But he was completely stock except for Altezzas.

And I powershifted too.

I heard that the Max's have higher torque than the Accord, but at different RPM's which I'm guessing may play a role in a race, but I'm no rocket scientist. I don't know the figures for sure. Last time I remember, Accord had 190-somtethin torque. Who cares?

Powershift? You mean the shifting from 1 to 2 to drive? If so, just leave it in drive with the OD on, that's most efficient way. I have a GLE so I can speak for some auto drivers. Also, I just saw the clips, man you sound p!ssed in the first clip, lol. I noticed that his car wasn't stock from the rear, looked like he had cat-back's or at least mufflers which may not do much, but enough to not be stock. Driver must have had something to be able to pull on you like that. Don't let it get to you. It was close though.

Yeah, I went to the track and ran twice: once powershifted and once just gunning it. Ran the exact same times both times.

Those two races were my first ones ever street racing from a dead stop. So I kinda wanted to win.

And he didn't have a catback or anything ... just tips.

I probably just needed an oil change and tune-up...

But the good thing is that a 5 spd 5th gen whomped on him. Hehehe ....

Hey clee...an Accord V6 buddy of mine wants to know...

Did this Accord you raced have a passenger too? If not then that would have probably made a pretty big difference in the Accord V6's favor.

BTW, Accord V6 sedans have 15" rims standard. The Coupes have 16" rims.

How did you manage to become a moderator if you have no idea what power shifting is??? Power shifting implys that you never lift the accelerator when shifting in a manual! It has nothing to do with an automatic. And a v6 accord will start to pull on the top end when racing an auto 4th gen Max. Sorry guys, just the way it happens stock vs. stock. However, when you get into the 4th gen 5spd vs a v6 Accord, it's another story all together. The Max will pull off the line and keep pulling.

Since when does someone's knowledge of the term "powershifting" have anything to do with his or her ability to effectively moderate a forum.

I have heard many different "definitions" for the term "powershifting". I'm still not clear as to what it means. And yet I've done more racing than 99% of the people on this forum, and raced more successfully too. What does knowledge of an obscure term have to do with anything.

If you have no knowledge of an item, even if it's obscure, then how can you moderate it??? Are the moderators here just to "babysit"? And if you have no knowledge of it, then why use the term? By the way, "powershifting", quite obviously has to do with "shifting" , implying, to most people, a manual tranny.
