Rim offset Question

I have a question. I am in the process of purchasing rims for my max 96. The rims that I am choosing come in 38mm and 45mm. For what I understand the 38mm/45mm is how deep the rim is. Is this correct and what is the better of the two for the car? Like Pro/Cons. considering that my car is lowered with H&R will that make much of a difference. Thanks

Offset is the distance from the rim's mounting surface to the centerline.

That I understand. but what would be the Pro/Cons between the two?

45mm (stock 16" SE rims) will 'tuck' further into the wheelwell. 38 will move it outboard... Choosing between the 2 will depend on the width you chose and the tire size... with 235 or 245, use 38mm.

Got you! lets say I go with the 38mm with 235 do you think it will stick out pass the fender? Thanks

this information is in the FAQ. a search would have also shown you information about offset. as I found in search this link will show you exactly what will happen when you are using different offsets

Get 38mm. That's what I have. I can e-mail pics if you don't remember what my car looks like exactly. The range for the Maxima is 35-42mm, so 38 is in the middle.
