Hi guys this is my first post.
I have a 99 gle that I recently purchased a few weeks ago the Speedo stop working so I ordered a new instrument cluster from eBay. I go it swapped but prior to that I had a service engine light on. After replacing it with the one I got from eBay the service engine light won’t light up? I checked the bulb and the bulb is fine, I also checked for codes and I have one p1320. No my question is why is the service engine light won’t come on on this new unit ??? Any help will do

 

Most likely because you purchased it off of E-Bay.

In all seriousness, my recommendation(s) would be:

- do some reading to make sure that the P1320 actually triggers the dash light. I’m not sure.

- if the answer to the above is yes, clear the code, operate the car for a few days, checking for DTC, and see if the dash light shows up.

 

Maybe installing the new IP may have cleared the codes, and you have to wait for it to come back on.
