Turn off the caps next time.

Weel supposedly the new filter is going to provide more air etc. I mean why not try it for now then eventually if you wanna try to see if K&N is better go for it. But you should be good with that filter.

Check some of the threads from just recently. Some people were pretty upset when they got theirs, maybe they have installed by now and know if there is a difference. I have the PR CAI but mine came with a K&N so I don't personally know. I have also read that the Warpspeed CAI (which I also read is identical to the PR CAI)is available with K&N filter now and it's cheaper than the PR CAI. Check around and maybe someone will give you first hand account of both things. I wish I would have checked before ordering mine from PR and I would of probably gone with Warpspeed if it is identical to PR. BTW, I love mine either way.

Sounds like you just got a plain old intake. A CAI requires you to run your pipe out into the wheel well in front of your left front tire. The filter sits in the wheel well.

The theory being that a larger quatity of cold air will allow your car to run leaner and faster.

C- cold A- air I- intake- receiving a direct stream of air from outside the engine compartment.
W-warm A-air I-intake.

like who? i just got mine yesterday and i love it! i think the monsterflow filter is fine. and it looks cool as he11. there shouldn't be very much of a difference between the two (if any at all) because both use oiled filter elements (but the monsterflow uses foam instead of cotton like the k&n).

I think it was because the Silver CAIs were on back order and the blue were not so maybe you got last of the old stock with the K&N

Just a question. Has anyone found the best place to put the air inlet? Does the wheel well provide enough pressure to optiize the airflow into the intake? I would think the wheel well is a low pressure area and would not provide a positive pressure in the intake. Any thoughts? e3 - spamman
