Cooling trend
I've got a cone intake, no CAI, and wanted to cool the air a bit more near the filter. I finally decided to put the stock intake tunnel back on, since it delivers air from in front of the radiator to right underneath the cone. I went to the hardware store and got a rubber 2" end cap for black urethane plumbing. These come with a hose clamp. I ground the lip off the piece of the intake that goes to the sound box (leaving enough to put the stop part back if I want later) and then capped the hole with the new piece. I figure this can't hurt ...
I was considering putting a vent in the hood, but I talked to a guy who does that kind of custom work and he said car aerodynamics are tough to figure without testing, so there's little guarantee it would work. I just figured somewhere for the hot air to go would help, but lots of cars are designed for the air to flow under, so I'll save the $$ on that mod for now ...
