More info on Altezza's
weird, but the 3rd generation maxima's also got interested in altezzas and supposedly 18 of them wanted them and started emailing them as well, obviously brian thought that they were talking about the 4 generations and sent this email to a 3rd generation member:

Thank you for your, and Maxima.org's, interest in our euro style tail lights. We have acknowledged the desire Maxima owners have, and will address it when we can. We are going down a list of popularity based on the activity we have had on our previous sales and market analysis. It takes 1000 sales to even offset tooling costs moderately, so we have to go with the most efficient use of our tooling investments. Clogging our e-mails, as Maxima.org. has done, will not get your application done any faster so please advise your group of our acknowledgement of your interest and readiness to buy the euro style tails as soon as they are ready to be shipped. Thanks for your interest and I look forward to hearing from you. I will e-mail you to let you know when we have an order available for your maximas.
BrianT@4apc.net
You know what this means? This means we did it! They're going to make them! WooHoo!!!!
-Scott
...oh yeah, and don't e-mail them anymore about these. As Brian said (above) he doesn't want us sending him "clogging" e-mails. They're making them WOOHOO!!

I don't think that they know that we all ganged up and hit them up about the altezzas prior to their attempt...

yeah, before the 3rd Gen. Maxima's started sending emails. We 4th gens. had already a few hundred as well as a multitude of phone calls. Yeah, perhaps we have overdone it a little, but keep in mind, I'm sure they get that all the time. It just shows them that there is money is in this. It's not personal...just business. They'll do whatever to make some money. Hope they do make our altezza's. I think the third generationers are still trying to get someone to make all clears for them.
I was simply letting all those know more info that were INTERESTED. If you've been keeping up with what's been going on, we started this a few weeks ago. Doug ended up making some pics, we had a list together, william put together several good letters, a lot of people called and inquired. Eventually we got a reply from the CEO of the company saying that they were going to make the Altezzas for the fourth generation maximas and they'd start tooling at the end of the year. Now the third generation owners also wanted the lights so obviously they've been enquiring. Maybe he was directing this to them that's why I clearly stated that Brian sent the email to a 3rd generation member. Maybe he's not going to make them, maybe he is. If you're not interested, cool. Don't hate on all of us that are interested. Some of us still believe that a man's word is good. If he proves us wrong, so be it. There's still a few good people left in the world so quit tripping...
Just saying that what you quoted from Scott translates into: don't expect them any time soon, as I have more popular cars that I can sell parts in quantities that will actually turn a profit over tooling cost. Not hating on anyone
my bad
my bad tex... I was just sleepy earlier so I was cranky... yeah, that is what the email sounds like. Who know what they're gonna do. It'a all about the money. If they think that they can squeeze a buck off of us, then they will. they already have a basic outer mold for a maxima cuz they made the clear taillights. Weird how they'll make parts for one vehicle all the way back into the 80's but a newer popular vehicle can't get parts. There's not a really big market for maxima parts cuz no one makes it. I think that the demand would be there if the supply was. There are so many more enthusiasts than just us. They want new things as well...just no resources out there. I hope they make them though. Personally, I really think that the altezzas would look good on our car. The guy has said about 4 conflicting things. Who knows what he's gonna do. Hell, I don't think he knows what he's gonna do. Think I'll go write a letter to Santa and tell him to leave altezzas/projector headlights/indiglo gauges in my stocking this Christmas...

altezza lights
I have been talking to APC for a few hours now and they said that they have no plans of ever making them for the maxima because of lack of interest. for them to even consider making them they need a minimum of 5000 orders. Their complaint is that it costs the company 50,000 dollars just to make the mold. Oh well I guess the red\clear is the best we are gonna get.
