if i drop my 96 2 inches is there any limit to the size and offset of rims that i would be buying?

I dropped my '97 2+ inches (can't recall stock right now) and I run 235/45zr17 tires on 17x8 rims with no problems whatsoever. Barry Chafin still runs stock size wheels to stay in street touring class for racing, and he is about 1/2" lower than me.
