I NEEEEED TORQUE !!!! Please, help

Guys. I'm looking for torque for My Max 95.

If I get Y-Pipe or the Intake (Pop or Cold Air), they say I gain lot's of mid and high-end power, but I LOOSE torque

Please, help me with my torque

let's torque about it...

between the pop and the CAI, I suggest getting a pop charger and feeding it cold air vs. just a CAI. Search on OSCAI or check out http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?threadid=102082
I felt I regained lost torque with the latter.

With an exhaust set-up, I would mod the hell out of the exhaust system but put keep the muffler stock. this should help you regain your backpressure and help you get some torque back without compromising power.

For the millionth time, BACKPRESSURE is always the enemy.

I thoght backpressure was freind and foe, becuase you have to have some or the exhuast wont flow fast enought hence why a 4 diameter piping would not help at all.

You hit the nail on the head. If your piping is too big, you exhaust wont flow fast enoughp. This is the key. You want the proper design that keeps velocity up at low RPM while maximizing flow rate at high RPM. This is why exhaust design is both a science and an art.

very interesting....so bigger is not always better. Since the science of making the pipe diameter change in correspondance with exhaust flow not cost justifiable, try a 2000 Maxima muffler with the variable backpressure valve. It'll free up the flow a little under WOT, but congest it enough under normal driving conditions to regain backpressure.

more torque

so our size exhaust is better than the new maxima's...as far as when slow riding, doing speed limit and all....how do you lose back pressure?

How much for the bridge?

Also, whatever price Big_Ham gives you for the extra torque, I'm sure i can beat out his price by at least 20 dollars...my torque is higher quality and I'll give you a better deal

Not backpressure. Exhaust velocity is the key.

With y-pipe and poor mans cai, my max was a torque monster, but with my JWT popcharger, my low rpm torque is down (some will argue this, but whatever) but after 3500 rpm it's sweet!

I have K&N popcharger now. Do you recommend putting cold air insted of popcharger?? For more torque? What about Y-pipe?

I feel the CAI has the same affect too. I could be wrong though. If its too long, it may slow and disrupt the airflow to the TB.
