Why is it that my 95 GLE never gets warm? I can let it start and sit for a few mins or an hour. The gauge gets to warm but as soon as I run down the road, back to almost all the way cold. I know, I know, smarty pants are going to start saying here; air circulation. But that's not what I'm talking about here, because my car never(not even in the summer) gets to the middle and stays. Where it comes in to play is only when my car stays running on the rich side and a little high on the rpm's since it's sensing cold start. Can someone please tell me if this is normal?

 

You probably need a new thermostat. When they go bad they get stuck in the open position which allows too much cooling (i.e engine never gets warm). You can get one at a local auto parts store.
