More Reverse Indigo's???

I have a few question about Reverse Indigo’s;
1.As far as I know they come with there own dimmer switch, so will the installation render the factory one to become useless?

2.Where have people installed the new switch.. it seems like it wouldn’t be convenient anywhere.

Thanks in Advance!!!
peace

the factory thing will be useless, mount the control module with some double sided tape somewhere around the bottom of the dash where no one can see it

factory dimmer

cant you splice the indigloes to your factory dimmer and get rid of the one they come with.that would be nice. it probably involves more work but this is what i would do if i get these in the future.

Here is some info that will help.
When you install them you tap into the (blue wire in my case) from the dimmer switch itself, that powers the indiglows themself. Now you have two sets of lights going 1. the stock needles/milage lgihts 2. the new indiglows. So you might want both dimmers still to work, i personally just left it alone and works just fine. I mounted the dimmer switch for the indiglows in the fuse box by my left knee)

Hope that helps!

I might suggest one tip. Because the wires for the indiglows go back in through the holes where the lightbulbs are placed you might have some problems with your fuel guage needle. I have this problem, in fact it doesn't really light up at all, so leave that far lightbulb in... (and i'm sure this made sense to about 2% of the poeple who read it)

I just installed my indiglos this las friday and I could not get the wires to fit in the light bulb hole in the gauges. The connection was to big to push through. What year of maximas are you guys driving that you were able to fit it through. I drive a 99 maxima. So I left my light bulbs in there and had to do it a different way. I used double sided velcro tape to mount it on the right side of the steering wheel column. Its out of the way and easy to get to. I just set the dimm where I wanted it and dont mess with it. I also tapped into the blue wire so that way my indiglos would turn on when I turn my lights on.

I just did mine last week, I am an installer and am used to these, but I always have one prob or another ! I installed the switch for the dimmer next to my factory dimmer (the blank tab). Mine was a dial,although most are those little sticky pads. Mine are the reverse indiglos therefore no colors to change.I tapped to my factory Parking lights, not my dimmer. I alos have blue LEDs in all of my door panels to light up the pockets,handle,and inside my switches, which are controlled by my dimmer. The problem that I did have with this particular set of gauges was that there were no holes on them to screw them down !!!! So i basically worked around it. What a friggin pain! If anyone needs a little help doin these PM or email me...Id be more than happy to help in anyway that I can.

No, they will turn on with your regular parking lights like normal,but you have to t-tap it to your parking light wire.

How can you figure out which wire is the dimmer switch? Is it the blue one for all 97-99's?

Just probe it with a multi meter or test light.Just stay away from the YELLOW wrapped wires !! The dimmer wire will be right at the dimmer switch.

Another Question, I have a black interior.. it doesn't look bad at all.. in the day time.. And since i have a '97 GLE my current gauges are also black.. with white letters and needles.. is it gonna look funny when i install white gauges? since the needles are white? and will it be a bad looking contrast in the day time?
