Ypipe Question

FIRST I WANTED TO SAY THAT I ALREADY USED THE "SEARCH" FUNCTION AND IT CONFUSED ME EVEN MORE

I am looking to get a ypipe for my car, but i don't know which one to get, a Stillen, Cattman, or Warpspeed. Right now, i am leaning towards Stillen. They all basically produce the same hp right? So i am more concerned about the sound. I want it to sound like my K&N intake when my car is fully revved, but maybe a little deeper and louder. But i don't want it to sound like a 1989 Honda CRX with a 15" tip on the back Also, i am confused in whether or not to get a catback exhaust or a Stillen bpipe and muffler. Could you help me out on that too. Thanks.

If you are looking for a nice intake sound to match the flow of your y-pipe i would go with the CAI. I do not think a drop in k&n will really do that much for sound. I know there are many threads going into detail of the various y-pipes. However, in my opninion for the money and what you get warpspeed is the way to go. I also have a greddy catback exhaust and i am pleased with how that sounds.

I was looking into getting a CAI. I like the K&N, but it's only loud when i floor it. Can you somehow describe the sound of your exhaust, like what kind of car it sounds like?

First off ... sound =/= speed. Louder =/= faster.

Well ... in most cases it's not.

But in any case, there has been growing support for Warpspeed's y-pipe. It has dynoed slightly higher than the competitors' y-pipes and has less fitment issues.

If you're worried about the sound go with Warpspeed. All of their y-pipes have a lined flex section. The y-pipe alone should not add any extra noise, it's the b-pipe + muffler (mostly the muffler) that cause most of the noise.

Mine fit like a glove and sounded nice as well. I recommend it.

its a simple install for mechanics right? so if i take it to any competent mechanic , assuming its not some stupid guy from a shop we hear horror stories from, it should be ok right?

CAI loud at WOT

CAI is very noticeable at WOT. Y pipe alone will not add noise. When I am WOT the CAI has a throaty roar, similar to an 8 cylinder engine.

When I am at WOT, the y pipe adds no noise but it does force my car to pin me back into my seat as measured by my BUTT DYNO 2003

Catback exhaust will give you noice. Do a search and you will find more than enough info about it!

Good luck !
