CEL codes in Haynes manual

Because the Maintainance Stickies are gone (for now) I thought I should let everyone who doesn't already know that in the Haynes Manual ($17.00) there is a complete list of the trouble codes (OBD-II and CEL) along with very clear instructions with some pictures of how to get the codes out of the ECU and how to clear the ECU of the codes. Look in section 6-4 through 6-8. After figuring out what the code means you can read through the rest of the section to find out how to replace the defective part. Also, for those of you who have ABS, there is a list of trouble codes in section 9-4.

This has helped me more than once and I hope it will help you...

Likewise for the Chilton manual.

Buy one! I agree.

Yes, everyone who plans to turn a wrench on their car should own one of these. I like my Hayne's. It's soooooooo worth it.

(It would really eliminate a lot of unnecessary threads here, too)
